Induced EMF Is Not the Same as Induced Current
Incorrect Thinking
Students may say that no current means no induced emf.
Why Students Think This
Many textbook examples involve closed circuits, so emf and current appear together.
Correction
An induced emf can exist even when the circuit is open. Current requires both induced emf and a complete conducting path.
